Only Watch is thrilled to announce the full lineup of 62 exceptional watches for its highly anticipated 10th biennial charity auction.
The event, organised by Only Watch and in collaboration with Christie's, will take place on November 5, 2023, in Geneva. Under the esteemed patronage of His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco, the auction will raise funds for research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) and genetic diseases.
As a tribute to its vibrant history, this special anniversary edition of Only Watch incorporates the colours of previous editions into its visual identity. Additionally, the colour green, symbolising hope, has been introduced as a new component.
The 2023 selection of watches showcase iconic established brands and talented emerging watchmakers collaborating to bring fresh innovation to the collection. On the research front, the charity's projects emphasise the significance of providing doctoral and post-doctoral grants to young researchers.
The auction will be held both in Geneva and digitally on November 5, 2023. The one-of-a-kind timepieces on offer are the result of the dedicated and creative work of 73 watchmakers and brands, including 16 collaborations between watchmakers, artists, and legendary brands. The auction will feature a total of 62 lots.
Following a world tour, the watches will be auctioned by Christie's at PALEXPO on Sunday, November 5, starting at 2pm (CET). The auction can be followed online via christies.com, and bids can also be placed over the phone by contacting Christie's.
Only Watch was founded in 2005 by Luc Pettavino, in collaboration with the watch industry, to support research in therapeutic solutions for Duchenne muscular dystrophy following the diagnosis of his son, Paul. The charity organisation, Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies, based in Monaco and active since 2001, focuses on accelerating research and facilitating collaborative breakthroughs among researchers worldwide. Only Watch funds dozens of research projects aimed at refining therapeutic outcomes for DMD.
In recent years, thanks to the generosity of watchmakers, collectors, and partners, Only Watch has made significant strides in the search for a cure. The funds raised have supported critical projects, including a biotech initiative led by a consortium of parents and researchers, which is currently launching a phase 1 clinical trial for a drug designed to treat Duchenne muscular dystrophy. This breakthrough technology has the potential to address other genetic diseases, marking a new chapter in the ongoing collaborative success story of over 20 years.
