The Tissot PRX collection has become something of a phenomenon these past couple of years, allowing those of us with limited budgets to enjoy the luxury appeal of the integrated sports watch. The collection has grown pretty large since its release in 2021, including cases of 35mm and 40mm, quartz and automatic movements and time-and-date, chronograph and digital displays. For the collection’s latest instalment, Tissot has joined forces with eight times NBA All-Star Damian Lillard, also known as Dame D.O.L.L.A in his music career. Suitably named the Tissot PRX Lillard Special Edition, the novelty arrives with all the familiar features of the 40mm-wide Powermatic 80 PRX but with some clever details added to the dial and case back to honour the partnership.

Speaking on the release, Damian Lillard commented: “Creating this signature PRX watch with Tissot has been an incredible experience. The Tissot PRX Damian Lillard Special Edition offers plenty of familiar spec including a 40mm wide gold-PVD coated case with flat surfaces, a matching gold-plated integrated bracelet and a 100 metre water resistance. Inside is the Powermatic 80 automatic winding calibre with a weekend-proof 80-hour power reserve and an anti-magnetic Nivachron balance spring.
The dial, at first, also appears familiar, finished in black with a textured, waffle-like finish. However, when you get up close, you realise the usual waffle texture has been replaced by one embossed with the number “0” on repeat. This is a clever nod to Lillard’s jersey number. The seconds hand also features Damian’s monogram and on the inner flange, the gold is engraved with several words related to aspects of his story.

You know what time it is...
‘DAME’ and ‘TIME’ can be found on the top corners of the flange to remember his on-court nickname and clutch performances. At the bottom right, the initials ‘DDKK’ are included in homage to his family: Damian, Damian Lamonte Ollie, Kali Emma Lee and Kalii Laheem. Finally, the bottom left showcases the letters “YKWTII” which stands for “You Know What Time It Is”, setting the stage for ‘Dame Time’ moments.

Finally, turning the Tissot PRX Damian Lillard watch around reveals a special sapphire crystal case back decorated with a silhouette of Lillard himself in his famous ‘Dame Time’ celebration pose. Other features of the watch include Super-LumiNova on the hands and markers, a gold-framed date window at 3 o’clock and triple blade folding clasp added to the bracelet.

When the reviewer would personally wear it: I’ll be honest, I’m not the biggest follower of basketball but this is a cool watch with lots of clever design details.
