No question, dive watches are becoming fashion watches so there is little surprise that more elaborate materials are being used in dial and case construction. If you're going to use a precious material, then why not something that wholeheartedly represents the ocean? For the first time, DOXA presents a SUB with a natural mother-of-pearl dial.
Keeping with the more contemporary dimensions of the SUB 300β which was released in September, at the Dubai Watch Show DOXA presents a limited-edition SUB 300β Seddiqi Edition 2023, to mark their partnership with one of the largest Middle East watch dealers, Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons.
Blue Pearlescent Beauty
For the release of this new watch, Doxa has introduced a truly stunning deep blue dial made from natural Mother of Pearl meaning that every dial has a unique fingerprint and can never be replicated.
DOXA has always made an effort to embrace continual improvement and development of its dive watches. This is particularly true for the SUB 300T, which is completely synonymous with the Swiss watch industry and the formative years of scuba diving as a sport.
The SUB 300β is slightly reworked to create a slimmer watch, with a profile of just 11.95 mm (compared to 13.65 mm for the SUB 300T) and a lower bezel height (by 0.5 mm) than on the SUB 300T. With a diameter of 42.5 mm and a water resistance rating of 30 ATM (equivalent to 300 meters or just over 980 feet), the SUB 300β Seddiqi Edition 2023 is carved from a solid block of 316L stainless steel.
It features the DOXA-patented unidirectional rotating bezel, now finished in blue ceramic, echoing the dial. As a professional dove tool it features dual scales for dive duration (in minutes) and depth (in meters) to calculate no-decompression dives. All diving-related indications of the dial are coated with Super-LumiNova®, ensuring optimal legibility underwater and in low-light conditions.
The rich sea blue of the mother-of-pearl dial offers radiance and depth never seen from DOXA, an effect that is magnified by the scratch-resistant sapphire crystal’s anti-reflective coating. A relaible Swiss automatic movement ensures optimum reliability and a comfortable power reserve of approximately 38 hours.
The SUB 300β Seddiqi Edition 2023 is available with the ‘Beads of Rice’ bracelet in stainless steel or with a white FKM rubber strap for a professional dive look. Both options have a folding clasp featuring an adjustable wetsuit extension.
