Oris continues its partnership with Movember releasing a new ChronOris for 2019...
Oris look to continue their ongoing support of Movember’s campaign for men’s health by releasing a new limited edition ChronOris.
This new model sticks with the black, gilt and orange/red colours seen on previous Movember editions but now translates this to the ChronOris. The watch remains at 39mm wide however the new colour scheme adds something we haven’t quite seen before for this range. Throw it on that new Military Nylon as well and you have a very unique look for an Oris.
When asked about Oris and Movember, Rolf Studer (Oris Joint Executive Officer) emphasised the benefits of Oris’ independence and just how urgent the topic of men's health really is.
‘As an independent Swiss watch company, Oris has the freedom to go its own way and to choose projects we consider not just important, but urgent. One of those is men’s health, which is why we’re working with Movember, a charity working to stop men dying too young.
Movember is doing incredible work to promote action and awareness around men’s physical and mental health. We’re delighted to present the Oris Movember Edition, a special version of the iconic Oris Chronoris in support of the charity.’

First thoughts
I’m very pleased to see Oris picked the ChronOris as their next Movember release. It’s a watch that far too often gets overlooked in the range and I’m not really sure why. The model itself marked the beginning of Oris’ involvement in the motorsports industry and was re-introduced in 2017.
The standard version looks similar to this new release, however, the new Movember edition with its rose gold plated hands and gilt details feels almost a little less sporty and more classy. That splash of sports remains however as the orange second's hand and additions on the inner bezel keeps the watch true to its roots. When you order your new Oris, you’ll also receive a unique looking watch roll holding your watch and a custom Military style band.
And of course, this watch and the relationship between Oris and Movember continue to raise money and awareness for an incredible cause.
