A recap of June 2024's best new watch releases, including Breitling, G-Shock, Longines, Hublot, Carl F. Bucherer, Gerald Charles, Farer, Yema and more...

Last month we brought you our first ever monthly release highlights feature covering all the good stuff that was released in the month of May and we’re glad to be back again with June’s instalment.

TAG Heuer have really been keeping us busy this month with not one, not two, but three showstopping highlights. Enthusiasts of the brand were treated to an Aquaracer refresh as the popular collection was extended to include new GMT and Date models, Max Verstappen was personally treated to a one-of-a-kind custom Monaco edition and the Swiss brand celebrated their historic partnership with Porsche in the form of a Carrera Chronograph collaboration, launched the very same day the car qualified on pole for the Le Mans 24 Hours race.

They weren’t the only luxury brand pairing up with fames though. Omega, with the help of Irish actor and new ‘Friend of the Brand’ Barry Keoghan, presented us with some pretty cool Bi-Colour variations of the Speedmaster Moonwatch.

Hoping to catch the essence of the approaching summer season, Breitling this month released some of their most colourful novelties to date. Presenting unique rainbow-dial models complete with hues of yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet, red and orange Super-LumiNova, colour fanatics can now purchase four vibrant 42mm stainless-steel versions, a 36mm version in white that combines stainless-steel and 18k red gold, as well as a 44m turquoise-dial reference.

The summer novelties didn’t stop there though. Breitling also announced the release of a Super Diver innovation, equipped to take on depths up to a whopping 1000 metres. The new Superocean Automatic 46 Super Diver is presented with dials in either stealthy green or black camouflage with matching ceramic inlays and offers a bidirectional rotating bezel with patented safety lock to guard against accidental adjustments. Crafted from ultra lightweight titanium, the new addition to the Superocean line-up also makes use of an iron inner case which has been especially designed to fend off magnetic interference.

G-SHOCK x Inside Out Collaboration

Sticking with the rainbow theme for just a second longer, in celebration of Disney Pixar’s release of Inside Out 2, G-SHOCK released possibly every 90’s babies dream watch (okay, maybe that’s just me). In true Y2K fashion, the latest BABY-G references even come complete with a special clip, strap and keyring case so your watch can double as a bag charm or Tamagotchi-esque pet if your heart so desires. For the more traditional amongst us, there are also 4 new additions to the 2100 collection that are presented on a bio-resin band with daily alarm functions and water resistance to 200m. Thanks to the collaboration with Disney, the new models come in a suite of tantalising colours, referencing the emotions of Riley, Inside Out 2’s now teenage protagonist.

With Longines’ Conquest Collection now celebrating its 70 th anniversary, the range has now been expanded once again to include new unisex models. Allowing wearers to “live life in a day”, the Longines Conquest models make great options for everyday wear thanks to their robust yet understated sporty elegance. As for my personal favourite? Reference L3.430.4.02.9 which arrives in a 34mm case with a sophisticated sunray green dial and matching versatile rubber strap.

As an update to their 2023 Maestro 9.0 Roman Tourbillon launch, Gerald Charles has released a 50-piece limited collection which puts a modern twist on the tourbillon’s timelessly elegant style. The new variation stuns with its hand-hammered pure, uncoated 18k rose-gold dial and the process of hand-hammering ensures each of the 50 pieces is completely unique. Now offered with two-toned colour and crafted with a blue titanium bezel on a stainless-steel case, the Maestro 9.0 Roman Tourbillon features a 60-seconds flying tourbillon that oscillates at 4hz with a distinct skeletonised cage.

Jaeger Le-Coultre refreshes yet another of their collections, with the Master Control range extending to include a Chronograph Calendar with sunray blue dial. Having already evolved a number of popular models, the new Master Control Chronograph Calendar provides a nice middle ground amongst their collection and makes for a good daily beater. An elegant yet capable wear anywhere, anytime watch, the new Master Control Chronograph Calendar appears in a 40mm stainless steel case complete with distinctive blue dial and sky-blue minute track. Interestingly, rather than opting for the more common tachymeter, the Chronograph Calendar variant features a rarer pulsometer function.

Farer Monopusher GMT Collection

Next up, Farer’s popular Cobb and Segrave monopushers are making a return, now complete with an additional GMT complication which was inspired by the classic Heuer Autavia GMT (ref. 1163). With customer choice as a clear priority, each model has a different subdial layout meaning the quirkier Cobb reference, with its blue and cream colourway, sports subdials at twelve and nine. Both are housed in a 41mm steel case with near-identical SW movements and a central quickset GMT hand. Considering how rare it is to see both of these complications in one watch, you could almost say that you get two watches in one here. Now that’s bang for your buck.
