At the end of the last working week, our entire office had resorted to scrolling through David Beckham’s Instagram in search of answers. Perhaps surprisingly, it wasn’t his celeb status or charisma that drove us there (despite that also being a fair reason) but instead the instantly recognisable Tiffany Blue number strapped to his left wrist in an otherwise irrelevant post about his new IM8 health supplements.

As one of Tudor’s most recognisable brand ambassadors, this isn’t the first time that Becks has been first in line to show off the brand’s latest offering but on this occasion, he wasn’t the only one. Taiwanese singer Jay Chou had also taken to the ‘gram to pose against a cloudless blue sky with the, at the time, undisclosed Tudor not-so-casually in frame. Having been the one to unveil last year’s Black Bay Chrono in pink as a lavish birthday gift to himself from Tudor, Chou’s involvement in the appearance of this colourful new chrono sent internet sleuths into a frenzy as we tried to work out what Tudor would be dropping and when.
Many amongst us suspected this could be an official Tiffany Blue collaboration, here to compete with the ultimate hype watch, the Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 Tiffany Blue, but it didn’t take as long as we might have expected for Tudor to grace us with the big reveal. By the time I arrived back at the office on Monday morning, the Tudor Black Bay Chrono “Flamingo Blue” had well and truly entered the public domain.

With a name like that it quickly became obvious that the new Tudor Chrono wouldn’t be part of an official Tiffany Blue collaboration but, as flamingos are famously pink, we were left wondering if that moniker would have been put to better use when marketing the existing Black Bay Chrono “Pink”.
Apparently though, “Flamingo Blue” references the “tropical waters flamingos are known to love” as opposed to the colour of the birds themselves. To me, it sounds like creative thinking from a product development team wary of getting caught in the crossfires of a Tiffany lawsuit, but it does have a certain ring to it and ties in nicely with the existing pink model.
You might remember that that watch was introduced as part of Tudor's partnership with MLS team Inter Miami CF, showcasing the team's vibrant colours—an unmistakably Miami mix of pink and, more recently, turquoise. Notoriously difficult to obtain, it has only become more highly sought after amongst collectors and increasingly inflated on the secondary market since its debut in 2024. Luckily for us, there is just as much to love about the new “Flamingo Blue” rendition.
Featuring the same 41mm stainless steel case as its sibling with black aluminium tachymetric bezel insert, black subdials, white snowflake hands and indices and a white date window at six o’clock, the new turquoise Tudor also makes use of the same five-link Jubilee-style bracelet with micro-adjustable T-Fit clasp. If that wasn’t enough, both Chrono’s are powered by the MT5813 COSC-certified manufacture calibre with a column wheel and vertical clutch for its chronograph mechanism. The only recognisable difference between the two watches is their dial colour.
Only time will tell if flamingo blue can compete with the hype amassed by its older sibling, but its bold colourway and unique charm certainly give it a fighting chance.
