Since its ground-breaking introduction in 2007 with the Duometre Chronograph, Jaeger-LeCoultre's Duometre concept has been synonymous with highly precise timekeeping.

Now, in 2024, Jaeger-LeCoultre proudly presents a new era of Duometre timepieces, including a reinterpretation of the iconic Duometre Quantieme Lunaire (Moon Phase) in steel. This marks the first time a Duometre piece is offered in steel, showcasing a contemporary twist on a timeless design, with an eye-catching blue dial and a new case.

Innovative Energy Management: The Duometre Concept

The Duometre concept, introduced in 2007, revolutionized complex mechanical watches by addressing a fundamental challenge: ensuring a consistent power supply to operate complications without compromising precision. By employing two separate barrels and gear trains, each linked to a single escapement, Jaeger-LeCoultre engineers guaranteed absolute constancy of power supply, regardless of complication operation.

Emphasizing precision and elegance, the Duometre Quantieme Lunaire dial features a symmetrical layout with three sub-dials forming an inverted pyramid. The deep blue dial hosts long, fine hands, characteristic of all Duometre watches, while different finishes create visual interest and contrast. Inspired by historic sector dials, the broad ring encircling each sub-dial is sunray-brushed, enhancing the visual depth and unity across the dial.

Contemporary Case Design

In tandem with the new Duometre models, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduces an entirely new case design inspired by 19th-century savonette pocket watches. Combining contemporary elegance with traditional craftsmanship, the rounded contours and convex crystal of the case offer both tactile comfort and visual appeal. Crafted from 34 separate parts, the case undergoes various finishing techniques, creating a captivating interplay of light.

In Conclusion

The new interpretation of the Duometre Quantieme Lunaire exemplifies Jaeger-LeCoultre's commitment to precision and innovation. With its contemporary aesthetics and technical sophistication, this steel timepiece embodies JLC’s heritage while pushing the boundaries of watchmaking excellence.
