Watches with vibrant colours offer a fun and distinct way to showcase your personality, giving you a chance to step away from the traditional black dials that, let's face it, can sometimes feel a bit too ordinary. Adding a touch of green to your collection is a refreshing move.

It’s no secret that the spectrum of green is vast, with countless shades to explore finding the perfect watch can be overwhelming but green watches are especially appealing for their versatility. From rich, deep greens reminiscent of dense forests to brighter, zesty shades that catch the eye, there’s a green watch out there to match your style. Whether you’re after a piece that exudes subtle elegance or one that boldly demands attention, you’re sure to find a green dial that speaks to you.

In this roundup, we’ve gathered a selection of five standout green watches that combine aesthetics, function, and craftsmanship. From robust dive watches to sleek dress options, these timepieces are bound to turn heads. Let’s take a closer look at what makes each of these green watches a must-have addition to your collection.

Breitling B09 Chronograph 40 Green

First up in my selection of the best green watches comes from Breitling. When Breitling introduced its latest collection of B09 models in late 2022, one particular piece stood out for many enthusiasts. The Premier Chrono B09 40 has quickly become a favourite among them. Right from the start, the dimensions are spot on—featuring a 40mm x 46.7mm x 13mm polished case that catches the light beautifully. However, the real star of the show is the dial, a stunning Pistachio green.

The matte green dial is adorned with polished, raised numerals, adding an air of sophistication. It also features two subdials with concentric patterns and three hands, with the chronograph hand ending in a lollipop counterweight, giving it a unique touch.

This watch masterfully balances modern and vintage elements without going overboard. The absence of a date window is a welcome simplicity, and when paired with the brown alligator strap and polished folding clasp, it exudes elegance. The exhibition case back reveals the in-house B09 hand-wound movement, showcasing its craftsmanship. This is definitely a piece I would love to have in my collection.

Seiko Prospex ‘Marine Green’ GMT

Next on the list is Seiko's Prospex "Emerald Horizon" GMT. This eye-catching 42mm timepiece is far from understated, offering remarkable craftsmanship and attention to detail. Its robust build includes 200 meters of water resistance, a screw-down crown, a 72-hour power reserve, and a ceramic bezel featuring a luminous marker at the 12 o'clock position. However, the GMT function truly sets this watch apart.

The level of finishing is comparable to that of the more luxurious Grand Seiko line. A standout design element is the crown, strategically placed at the 4 o'clock position for improved comfort. The bezel's subtle polish creates a stunning contrast with the rich green tones of both the bezel and dial. As a tool watch, it excels in practicality and aesthetics, and the accompanying bracelet is top-notch, though it would also look fantastic on a green NATO or rubber strap.

Seiko has a reputation for delivering exceptional value, and the "Emerald Horizon" GMT's sunburst dial is a true visual treat. The watch's hands and markers, including the seconds hand with a distinctive red dot and luminous tip inspired by Seiko's 1968 diver model, are sharply executed, offering excellent readability with a hint of retro flair.

Mid-way through my list we find a unique piece that emerged from a meaningful partnership between Oris and Swiss brand Cervo Volante, known for its eco-friendly deer leather goods. This collaboration is part of their ongoing effort to promote sustainability. The result is a timepiece that combines fine craftsmanship with a green dial inspired by the lush landscapes of the Swiss Alps.

Housed in a 38mm stainless steel case with a satin finish, the watch features a distinctive coin-edged bezel and an oversized crown, a signature element of this series. One of the most striking aspects of this model is its date display, which elegantly circles the dial's edge. A centrally-mounted hand, ending in a crescent, points to the date, while the vintage-inspired Arabic numerals and cathedral hands, treated with Superluminova, ensure easy readability. The watch also includes a see-through case back, offering a glimpse of the automatic movement's signature red rotor.

Now for the H. Moser & Cie. Streamliner Central Seconds in Matrix Green. This remarkable timepiece will elevate any collection. After having the opportunity to experience one last year (the Blue Perpetual Calendar), I became an instant admirer of this brand. The level of craftsmanship and the flawless finishing at this price point are truly remarkable.

The Streamliner's unique case design and integrated mono-link bracelet are truly impressive. The dial, featuring the H. Moser & Cie. logo subtly applied in clear lacquer, exudes a quiet charm. The Matrix Green fumé dial, with its sunburst finish and applied markers, is further enhanced by the use of Globolight inserts on the hands for better visibility.

With its 40mm case and a slim 11.8mm profile, it strikes a perfect balance between style and functionality. The exhibition case back offers a view of the meticulously crafted in-house movement, complete with an 18kt gold counterweight. This watch is not just beautiful on the outside; it offers 120 meters of water resistance and a three-day power reserve, making it equally impressive on the inside.

Glashütte Original Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date

Finally, let's introduce the Seventies Classic Chrono with its mesmerizing "Emerald Fade" dial, a creation by Glashütte Original. The dial's gradient effect transitions from a deep green at the centre to nearly black at the edges, creating a captivating ombré look. Inspired by designs from the 1970s, this chronograph features a rounded square stainless steel case, measuring 40mm by 40mm. It also boasts one of the clearest date displays I've come across recently.

The watch stands out with its bold black hour markers and hands, which are filled with bright white Super-LumiNova, giving it a sharp and modern aesthetic. Powered by an in-house movement, this timepiece offers an impressive 70-hour power reserve and is water-resistant up to 100 meters. I'm particularly fond of square watches, and this new offering from Glashütte Original ticks all the boxes for me, especially with its rich green dial. The transparent case back lets you admire the exceptional finishing that Glashütte Original is celebrated for. This sporty chronograph is available with a choice of a bracelet, rubber, or leather strap.
