Powering the watch is a new design Miyota 9075 calibre hi-beat GMT movement. As a true GMT, the hour hand can be adjusted or 'jumped' independently of the GMT and minute hand. This allows the movement to keep running and accuracy maintained but briefly disconnecting the hand during adjustment. The watch never stops. A unidirectional rotor winding makes you and the watch feel alive, much like the venerable Valjoux 7750 did. As well as the GMT hand showing an alternate time zone, a third time zone may be tracked using the 24-hour 120-click rotating bezel in conjunction with the GMT hand. The ceramic bezel has three colour options: black & moss green, black & chocolate brown, and black & crimson red.
The striking dial has a gradient effect with a translucent dial centre. This is a crucial design element in the Freediver range described in the words of Danny Guzzi, Design Lead: "While sketching the design of the Freediver GMT, we wanted to subtly displaying the movement without drawing focus away from the hands, indexes, and the new indexed inner ring".

The watch is a quantum leap for the brand concerning dive models and a source of immense pride. Leon Leong remarked: "The Freediver GMT is an exciting milestone for BOLDR. We've been waiting for the right opportunity to create a sub-£1K 'true' GMT watch and have worked diligently to deliver a high-quality product. We're among the first (brands) to utilize the new Miyota 9075 workhorse movement."
Build quality is high, with the case made from marine grade S316L stainless steel. Lug-to-lug is 53mm, lug width is 22mm and the overall thickness is 14.6mm. The domed sapphire crystal has a multi-layer, anti-reflective coating. As you would expect from a professional dive watch, the Odessey Freediver GMT also has a screw-down crown, but what is less expected is a very well-executed exhibition case back with "Great Wave of Kanagawa" artwork and an engraved Cuvier's beaked whale. The watch face is also balanced by a custom date window that sits level with the eye-line between 4 and 5 o'clock for better legibility.
Low light or underwater reading will never be an issue, thanks to the generous application of Swiss SuperLuminova. The blue material is on the bold all hands, including the fourth GMT, indices, and individual numbers on the dive bezel.
The Boldr Odyssey GMT is an excellent example of a single watch that can meet all the requirements of an outdoor adventurous life.
