NOMOS’ youthful Club Campus 38 watch with the brilliantly coloured electric green dial has been nominated for one of the most important awards in fine watchmaking – the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève.
At this year’s Watches & Wonders event in Geneva, German watchmaker NOMOS delivered two bold Club Campus watches with Electric Green and Coral Pink dials. As part of their Club Campus line, the designs are created with school and university graduates in mind, offering compact case sizes, youthful aesthetics and accessible price points. These watches really are quite unique in their minimalist playfulness and will no doubt attract those infatuated with the current trend of colourful watch dials.

Equally as infatuated with the NOMOS Club Campus 38 Electric Green watch is the Fondation du Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève. The foundation has nominated the green-dialled watch in the “Challenge” category which is defined by watches with a retail price equal to or under CHF 3,500. The NOMOS Club Campus model will be going on a world tour, exhibited in Macao, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, New York, Geneva, Dubai and Zurich over the next few months. After that, a jury of watch experts will award the prize in a total of 15 categories on November 9 in Geneva. This isn’t the first time NOMOS will be attending the event, as back in 2018, they won the GPHG award with their Tangente neomatik 41 Update watch.

The NOMOS Club Campus 38 Electric Green watch is a beautiful design, and we have no doubt it’ll do well at the “Oscars” of watchmaking. Its brilliant green dial is the star of the show, presented with a California-style mix of Arabic numerals, Roman numerals and baton indexes. The hour markers and hands are adorned in Superluminova and pair with a brilliantly legible orange-coloured small seconds hand at 6 o’clock. For the rest of the specs, the design follows in the footsteps of previous Club Campus 38 watches. There’s a 38mm wide and 8.5mm tall stainless steel case with domed sapphire glass, a 100 metre water resistance and a grey suede leather strap.
There are very few watches at this price point powered by in-house movements, but the NOMOS Club Campus Electric Green delivers one of the same. Inside is the German watchmaker’s Alpha manual winding manufacture movement with a total of 17 jewels, a frequency of 21,600vph and a power reserve of 43 hours.
