Introducing our latest collaboration with NTH: a stunning timepiece featuring a blue fade dial with inspiration drawn from the iconic fashion trends of the 1970s. Keep time in style with this distinctive and eye-catching addition to our collection.
To give these DevilRays a vintage look, we first flattened the dial, removing the raised minute track. The markers are chunky and have raised polished sides to add some height back into the dial whilst keeping a classic aesthetic.
To help make the watch look even more retro, we went with a classic sword handset that was a firm favorite of vintage dive watches. The polished silver hands pop out against the orange sunburst dial, so it’s easy to read at a glance.
The dial print is another big departure from the standard DevilRay, with a partial crosshair and offset text designed to evoke the look of classic cushion-cased divers of the era. For the first time, the iconic DevilRay graphic is present on both the dial and case back, and it adds a playful element to an otherwise very practical dive watch dial.
The DevilRay’s steel cushion case shrouds a 120-click, unidirectional bezel. This bezel features a saw-tooth edge for easy manipulation, as well as a durable steel insert.
Alongside these changes, this WatchGecko exclusive DevilRay is as tough a tool watch as you’d expect to see from NTH. The hands, markers, bezel, and even the crown are filled with X1 Super-LumiNova, for supreme legibility in low-light conditions.
What’s more, each DevilRay is individually tested to a water resistance rating of an impressive 500m, and features a double-domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal for superb scratch-resistance.
To power the DevilRay, NTH chose to use the reliable Seiko NH35 automatic movement. The tried and tested calibre beats at a rate of 21,600 BPH with a 41-hour power reserve. On top of this NTH have taken the time to regulate the movement, and it will be accurate to -10/+20 seconds a day.
Why This Watch?
About The Brand
NTH were founded in 2016 by Chris Vail, a long-time member of the WatchUSeek forum community. Before NTH Chris ran another brand called Lew & Huey, which he founded in 2012, so he knows a thing or two about how to make a good watch.
NTH watches focus on putting a twist on classic dive watch designs, at an affordable price, without sacrificing quality. The brand’s watches are very well proportioned and extremely wearable. They’re also true tool watches, being powered by reliable Japanese movements and having great water-resistance.
