“Born in Amsterdam, raised by the world”
What do you think of when you hear the word ‘Amsterdam’? Is it the bicycles, parks, famous museums and art galleries, canals or even the cheese? Perhaps a new word ought to be added to that list: watches.

In November 2023 Ace Jewelers joined forces with Frederique Constant to create the Highlife Worldtimer, a limited-edition watch that hopes to honour their beloved city of Amsterdam. With its constant amusements, picturesque streets and expansive fields brimming with every colour of tulip, it’s no surprise that the capital of the Netherlands is adored by many. For Ace Jewelers and Frederique Constant the creation of the limited-edition Highlife Worldtimer is a collaboration built on personal heritage. Ace Jewelers resides in the heart of the city, with the Ace and Dik boutique sandwiched between Vondelpark and the awe-inspiring Rijksmuseum. Similarly, despite being Geneva-based, Frederique Constant is also steeped in Dutch history. The company was founded by a Dutch couple in 1988 and, to this day, is led by CEO Niels Eggerding, of Dutch descent. Niels Eggerding and Alon Ben Joseph, owner of Ace Jewelers, have been dear friends for almost two decades and have now proudly collaborated for the first time.

The jeweler and the watch brand have united to celebrate their shared roots by releasing a limited edition run of 100 Worldtimer Amsterdam watches. Derived from the Highlife Worldtimer series, the limited Amsterdam inspired edition showcases a 41mm stainless steel case flawlessly complimented by a matte black dial. The Ace x Frederique Worldtimer Amsterdam offers a fresh-take on the lavish aesthetics of the regular model, this time favouring a sleeker, utilitarian design. Hints of red and white have been used in honour of the flag of Amsterdam and the three crosses that are an instantly recognisable symbol of the city are appliqued at 12 o’clock. Another thoughtful touch is the recurrence of the three crosses on the caseback, with each edition being engraved “Ace Jewelers xxx/100”.

In the spirit of globetrotting, the Constant Highlife Worldtimer Amsterdam is powered by caliber FC-718, which simultaneously displays the time in 24 different time zones around the world, with a sub dial for the date at 6 o’clock. The watch truly captures the many inspirations of the city and encourages adventure in its wearers, to Amsterdam and beyond.
