Seiko Releases March 2025
Seiko Prospex 60th Anniversary
It seems only right to kick things off with new additions to the beloved Prospex line-up. Celebrating it’s 60th anniversary in 2025, the occasion is being marked by Seiko with a trio of Seiko Prospex 60th Anniversary Limited Edition timepieces.
If you’re new to Seiko’s history, or just keen to recap, let’s take things back 60 years to the birth of the Prospex, Seiko (and Japan’s) first-ever diver’s watch. In response to a letter received by Seiko in 1965, in which a professional diver explained that his watches were suffering damage when used at great depths, the brand embarked on a mission that would result in the infamous prospex, the first dive watch to come out of Japanese waters. Originally featuring an automatic movement and a respectable 150m water resistance, the Prospex line-up has grown considerably since its initial release and the new limited edition pieces highlight the brand’s continued innovation.
Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver’s 60th Anniversary
£1,270 – 6,000 pieces

Each of the three celebratory limited edition’s honours a key milestone in the life of the Prospex. The first of the three, naturally, is inspired by the very-first milestone. A modern recreation of the original Prospex ‘62MAS’ 1965 Diver, this edition references the iconic ‘The Great Wave’ woodblock print by Hokusai and features an in-house 6R55 automatic calibre with a three day power reserve and water resistance up to 300m.
Prospex 1968 Heritage Diver’s GMT 60th Anniversary
£1,6000 – 6,000 pieces

Next up, a tribute to the 1968 Diver, Seiko’s first one-piece case hi-beat Diver’s watch which saw the water resistance of the original 1965 model double from 150m to 300m. ‘The Great Wave’ inspired dial returns for a second time in the 60th Anniversary collection but this time around is presented in a deep blue to contrast with the fresh white of its 1965 counterpart. Both of these divers come with a short-pitch length bracelet with micro-adjustable clasp for added comfort, a first for the Prospex line.
Prospex Marinemaster ‘Shinkai’ 60th Anniversary 600m Saturation Diver
£4,130 – 600 pieces

Finally, the Prospex Marinemaster ‘Shinkai’ edition. The 2025 Marinemaster is the most advanced Prospex model to date and is crafted from lightweight titanium for optimum comfort and hasa superhard coating on the case and bracelet as well as a diamond-like coating on the bezel for reinforced scratch resistance. This ultra robust Marinemaster was conceived at the Shizukuishi Watch Studio, the home of Seiko’s finest mechanical calibres, and features a whopping 600m water resistance. Powered by the new in-house 8L45 movement, the 2025 Marinemaster is equipped with a three-day power reserve and is presented with a blue dial with a new transparent layered structure that’s name (Shinkai) translates to deep sea in Japanese.
King Seiko VANAC Collection

If that wasn’t quite enough for eager Seiko fans, the brand are also launching the King Seiko VANAC collection today. Taking their inspiration from a 1970s collection that went by the same name, the design of these watches is an ode to the birthplace of King Seiko, Tokyo.
The collection is comprised of five distinctive colourways: Tokyo Twilight, Tokyo Midnight, Tokyo Sunrise, Tokyo Horizon and Tokyo Brilliant Sunlight, each of which expresses the city’s skyline stretching across the horizon at different times of day. Much like the new Marinemaster, these watches are powered by Seiko’s new in-house-built 8L45 mechanical calibre and are precise to +10/-5 seconds per day.

Available for pre-order from today (March 6th ), this collection retails for £2,900 a piece. Tokyo Horizon is a limited-edition at only 700 pieces worldwide and Tokyo Brilliant Sunlight will be exclusively available at the Seiko Boutique on New Bond Street, London.
