Following the launch of Biver Watches in March 2023, a project built on a shared passion for watches between father and son, Jean-Claude and Pierre Biver have announced their first joint release. The inaugural piece showcases their infinite passion for the craft of watchmaking as they collaborate with the finest specialists to create pieces of incomparable excellence. Their inaugural creation is that of a carillon minute repeater with tourbillon and micro-rotor, a complication fond to both Jean-Claude and Pierre. Jean-Claude Biver has deemed this feat of craftsmanship their way of giving “birth to the soul of the watch”. More than a watch, this is likely to be deemed by enthusiasts and collectors alike as a piece of art made at the hands of artists and true craftsmen.

Each minute detail is meticulously finished by hand and adheres to the highest of standards. The Biver hallmark can be seen in these finishing touches as can the essence of their fascinating legacy in watchmaking be understood. Jean Claude-Biver and Pierre Biver have found themselves reconnecting with the foundational principles of what it means to make watches. They relentlessly pursue quality above all else and this hyper-exclusive collaboration with Bucherer does nothing short of exemplifying this value.

The piece itself will be crafted in white gold and decorated with an assortment of remarkable sapphires. The 294 gradient sapphires decorating the case amount to 26.27 carats alone, but the dial features another 90 of the dazzling stones. This takes the watch beyond the traditional gem-setting watch fanatics are used to seeing and into the realms of an art form. The watch is not only aesthetically stunning but functional too, with three gongs and hammers creating sound that enables the watch to activate and engage with each of our human senses. The back of the case and the crown are meticulously engraved, with the white gold main plate being engraved by hand. The caliber JCB.001 A movement is enhanced by a platinum micro-rotor which is decadently crafted in rose gold.
