The Geckota Pioneer range draws inspiration from classic 1960s watches and puts a contemporary twist on it. The case design reflects retro-futurism, a concept that guarantees an ageless quality. The aim was to design a watch that looked 60 years old yet somehow appeared in a new, perfect condition. Under the vintage look, the Pioneer is a wholly modern watch with all the technical sophistication you would expect from Geckota.

Two new dial colours have been released for 2024: black and beige brushed fume effect. Each brings something unique to the overall design and a different character to the Pioneer.

The case design takes us back to a different era, and the dial has an aesthetic that reflects all of the curves and angles that were the hallmarks of the 1960s. The indices and hands have a highly distinctive look reminiscent of the interior design from that period.

The dial has been designed to offer a multi-layer appearance by clever use of raised indices and a classic crosshair design that attracts the eye to the centre. The minute track is divided by each marker, giving the watch an authentic mechanical look, almost like it has been lifted from an era-specific dashboard or cockpit. The previous blue, red and green colours of the dial were bold and contemporary; however, the latest editions of black and beige add a new level of subtlety and sophistication to the Geckota Pioneer.

Every model in the range is assembled in marine-grade 316L stainless steel case and powered by the Seiko NH35 which has been quality tested in-house to ensure accurate performance. This robust movement beats at 21,600 vph, has the proprietary Diashock protection system and offers a power reserve of 41 hours. The rotor is bi-directional winding with manual wind capability.

Each model in the Pioneer range comes on a colour-specific Geckota branded leather strap, carefully selected for comfort and to add maximum visual impact to the watch as an overall package.

While Geckota has majored in design aesthetics, it's essential to mention that the Pioneer is, under the beautiful skin, a highly functional tool watch with desirable features such as a screw-down crown, double domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass, Super Luminova luminescence and 200 meters water resistance.

Swap the Pioneer onto a military nylon strap or Vintage Tropical rubber, both of which will retain the look of the era, and you will have and outstanding one-stop-shop watch that will be us comfortable in water as it will be at a fashionable evening event.

The Geckota Pioneer has always been a very popular addition to the collection. With each watch individually serial numbered these two new sophisticated dial colours only add to the desirability.
