We've got two new GMT watches in the store, and each is available in both 39mm and 41mm!

Earlier this year, French brand Yema expanded their ever-popular Superman collection by adding four GMT variants. Now that global travel is opening back up again, these GMT watches will make ideal tools for frequent travellers!

The new Superman Worldtime GMT is available in two distinctive looks, both with a matt black dial. A vintage inspired version features faux-aged lume and a ‘Coke’ (red and black) aluminium bezel, whilst a simpler, largely monochrome version brings a more modern aesthetic thanks to its stainless steel GMT bezel and crisp white indices.

Yema fans will be delighted to hear that each is available in either 39mm or 41mm, a great move from Yema which should ensure that most wrist sizes and preferences are catered for.

The lug to lug measurement is 48mm or 49.5mm respectively. The overall thickness is 13.7mm on the 39mm and 13.95mm for the 41mm - very respectable figures for a GMT - especially when you consider that the double domed sapphire crystal accounts for 2.6mm of that!

Of course, the main things of note here include the new 24-hour GMT bezel and independent GMT hour hand with red lume-filled triangle, which allow the user to track three time zones in total.

The stainless steel case is fully brushed and the case back features Yema’s historic coat of arms. Full crown guards protect the crown which sits at the three o’clock position, as does the colour-matched framed date window.

All four versions feature a stainless steel bracelet with folder-over clasp and safety lock. Four micro-adjustments and diver’s extension will help give the perfect fit.

A Strong Visual Identity

Both versions of the new Superman GMT are instantly recognisable as Yema products thanks to the design language carried over from the rest of the collection such as the unique bezel-lock feature first introduced by Yema in 1963, and the iconic ‘shovel’ seconds hand.

Bold, oversized luminescent markers (Super-LumiNova BGW9) and 300m water resistance will ensure that the GMT will be a practical choice too when it comes to actually using the watch for its intended purpose.

In-house Movement

The Superman GMT is powered by the Yema 3000, an in-house movement which is designed, developed and assembled in France. It has a bi-directional rotor, a 42-hour power reserve and is adjusted to four positions. With this adjustment Yema state the movement will be accurate to +/-10 seconds a day, which is a decent level of accuracy for a watch that isn't chronometer.

A Compelling Offering

Yema has pitched the new Superman Worldtime GMT very well indeed by offering buyers a choice of crowd-pleasing sizes, equipping it with an in-house movement and continuing the quirky style unique to Yema that is full of character and charm. We think it’s a mighty impressive package for the price of just £899!
