Philippe Dufour, the renowned master craftsman-watchmaker and living legend of Haute Horlogerie, has astounded discerning collectors worldwide by offering a unique opportunity to acquire one of his prized timepieces. In celebration of his 75th birthday, Philippe Dufour has authorised Christie's Geneva to present a striking Simplicity watch, an exceptional creation that embodies elegance and exclusivity.

Recognised for his independence and audacity, Philippe Dufour has been honored with the most prestigious awards in watchmaking. He achieved remarkable feats by incorporating a Grande and Petite Sonnerie into a wristwatch and introducing a double-balance wheel mechanism. However, his Simplicity watch stands above all, elevating him to the status of primus inter pares, the first among his peers.

The Simplicity timepiece, which comes with a certificate dated June 3rd, 2021 (Philippe Dufour's 73rd birthday), was unveiled during the celebrations held last week, attended by the watchmaker's family and friends from around the world. Exuding true simplicity, this exceptional watch features a captivating royal blue dial, distinctive hour markers, and exquisite Côtes de Genève finishing. Notably, this is the first Philippe Dufour wristwatch to showcase a steel case publicly, setting it apart from previous models made in 34 and 37mm cases. Moreover, as per the client's request, this unique timepiece does not include a small second hand, further enhancing its exclusivity.

The details of the viewing and auction, scheduled for later this summer, will be announced in due course. Watch enthusiasts and collectors can witness this exceptional timepiece at Christie's Geneva and other select locations.
