Can you believe only six months have passed, and Watches and Wonders is here again? As expected, the WatchGecko Magazine and YouTube Channel will have daily wall-to-wall coverage. Our staff and guest authors are on standby like a rapid reaction team, ready to bring you the latest press releases as they happen.
However, we are not in Switzerland any more. For this mid-year watch bonanza, we are visiting The Salon in historic Shanghai. Watches and Wonders will be five days of new releases and watch news between the 13th and 17th of September 2023.

For the first time, two days of the show will be dedicated and fully open to the general public, giving visitors rare access to some of the most beautiful timepieces available in the world today, plus an insight into the inner workings of the watch industry. Visitors can meet staff from Tier 1 brands, attend lectures and photo exhibitions, and handle many of the latest models.
If you are lucky enough to buy tickets, they are available from the official Watches and Wonders WeChat account (Chinese WhatsApp) and the Damai ticketing system.

Professionals attending need not worry about the exhibition being swamped with onlookers every day because the first three days will be industry access only allowing everyone to engage in meaningful business. Some guests will have access on the first three days but these will be screened and include only retailers, invited guests, and, most importantly the international watch press.
For those who cannot travel to Shanghai, there is no need to worry because WatchGecko Magazine and YouTube Channel will monitor every release closely and aim, as quickly as possible, to get new information published.

The Salon also features an auditorium which will be the venue for several fascinating talks from influencers and key operators in the watch industry. If you register online, many of these should be broadcast live or downloadable. Topics covered will include subjects as diverse as; "A Fine Watchmaking Universe", "Iconic Watches", "A Glimpse of Complication" and "History of Time Measurement", to name but a few.
As we did for the March show earlier this year in Geneva, the WatchGecko authors will put together some written and video collaborative roundup pieces once the event has finished highlighting our favourite models and those we were less keen on. There will be much debate and analysis, so don't forget to keep looking at the YouTube channel and Magazine post-show for our thoughts.
Watches and Wonders is always an exciting time for professionals and enthusiasts, so make sure you lock the dates into your diary and log into the WatchGecko Magazine daily for the whole show to see what gems have been released and what we think of them.
