Fans of Farer’s extremely popular World Timers will be glad to hear that the collection is back and arguably, better than ever. Having originally launched in 2019, Farer’s World Timers have become something of a staple for the brand. The World Timers allow the wearer to simultaneously track the time of 24 cities simultaneously by combining a central rotating 24-hour disc and a bidirectional internal bezel.

The Roché and Markham editions make their return, alongside a smart new green model named the Foxe. Several key updates have been introduced to ensure the return of the World Timers sees them at their most functional. The hour and minute hands are now blunter with a more modern alpha shape that suits the overall aesthetic of the timepieces, and a new handset has been crafted.

Wearers are still able to track an array of 24 global destinations, however the cities on the rotating bezel have been updated. Replacing Mexico City is Chicago, Beijing replaces Hong Kong, and lastly, Paris has been replaced by Bienne to honour the town in Switzerland where the World Timers are produced.

Most interestingly, the new World Timers come complete with a new movement. Sellita have been working closely with Farer to produce a completely unique version of the Sellita SW33-01. The customised version of the popular movement was manufactured exclusively for use by Farer. Now adapted to feature a rotating disc with a 24-hour scale, as opposed to the traditional GMT hand, when used with the rotating bezel, wearers will be able to tell the time in any time zone. The power reserve has also been increased to 50 hours thanks to the mainspring being modified to the one used in the SW330-2.

With a host of intricate details, the Roché dial still maintains a highly legible layout. Super-LumiNova has been employed for the mixed baton and Arabic numeral markers to achieve an unparalleled glow in low-light conditions and they have been mounted onto the midnight blue dial textured with a Clous de Paris guilloché pattern. The bi-directional rotating bezel is also lumed with Grade X1 Super-LumiNova and can be operated via the crown at 10 o’clock.

Combining a classic red, white and blue colourway with an eye-catching guilloché dial, the hands of the Markham II are filled with mint green Super-LumiNova. Another clever detail is the Farer ‘A’ in blue, leading the way at the tip of the seconds hand. With a bold red and blue 24-hour scale on the 24-hour rotating disc and a printed world map on the inside in red and blue, the Markham II does well to draw together a smart and timeless final look.

Farer’s new World Timer model, the Foxe, brings a deep green colour palette to the existing collection. With the same fascinating guilloche pattern and pure white markers moulded from Super-LumiNova, the Foxe excels in function as well as style. A mint and dark green world map stands out boldly inside the central disc. With a circular date window at three o’clock and the wheel colour-matching the dial, the Foxe is a classy, green addition to the line-up of World Timer models on offer at Farer.
