On 18th January we’re set to see the release of a new yet old twist on the Nivada Grenchen Depthmaster. Guillaume Laidet, CEO of Nivada Grenchen, has recently made a discovery that we’re sure is set to excite watch fans worldwide. He has announced the recent discovery of 10 untouched and immaculate Nivada Grenchen dials of vintage astute in his collection. A limited edition run of 10 of these pieces will comprise New Old stock that has been prised from the CEO’s inventory dating back to their original manufacture. Having survived in perfect condition, the 10 soon to be released pieces are a true testament to the supreme craftsmanship of the Nivada Grenchen watch and its ability to withstand time itself. Manufactured to maintain the upmost quality, the Nivada Grenchen Depthmaster is an exceptional finding and for connoisseurs and collectors alike this is sure to be a highly desirable release.

These editions are adorned with their original glossy orange dials with distinguishing Arabic numerals and tritium indexes. Despite the cases and hands being produced in 2023 these watches are an ode to the legacy of craftsmanship that has come before them. In this spirit, the watches themselves aren’t the only thing to have been thoughtfully obtained from the archives. They will come equipped with an ETA 2472 movement (also of ‘old new stock’) that is sure to set the tone for these pieces and the heritage that comes with them.

Nivada Grenchen will also be making some exciting infusions to its current collection. To set the tone for the revival, there will also be a second version of this iconic timepiece available. In the spirit of celebrating such an astonishing find from the past, the current collection is set to see its own transformation take place. The distinctive glossy orange hue recognisable from the original 1965 Depthmasters will be used to makeover the new models. Only the keenest of eyes will be able to spot the slight differences between the two dials but the revamp of the newer editions really adds to the celebration of this watchmaker’s storied past.
As a timestamp of the era they date back to, the glossy orange dial of the vintage Depthmaster is marked with ‘T SWISS MADE T’ at 6 o’clock signifying the use of Tritium to provide a safe and reliable glow. These serve as clear indicators for the dating and authentication of this vintage icon, as does the date window at 3’oclock, a feature that has not been deployed in the newer models.

The two versions will be available for purchase from January 18th 2024 with the Limited Edition N.O.S. priced at $2,890 and the Current Collection at $995. Watch enthusiasts can also secure a collector’s book at $50, offered with the purchase of the Limited Edition 1965 piece.
