Best New Watch Releases December 2024
Seiko Presage Classic Series in Delicate Cream Silk
First up, a final round of new releases from Seiko. Reminiscent of the Presage Classic Series reference the WatchGecko Team took a closer look at earlier this year, the two new models appear in ‘Delicate Cream Silk’. Inspired by Japan's heritage of silk craftsmanship, their textured dials in soft Shiro-Iro white shimmer with gold accents for a touch of elegance. One model offers a peek into Seiko’s artistry with an open-heart design, while both feature a retro-inspired seven-piece bracelet that’s as comfortable as it is stylish. With the reliable 6R55 movement providing a 72-hour power reserve, these pieces are as practical as they are graceful—a fitting close to Seiko's 2024 lineup.
Seiko Presage Style 60s ‘Elegant yet Rugged’ Biker Style
Channelling the effortless cool of the 1960s, Seiko’s new Presage Style 60s ‘Elegant yet Rugged’ Biker Style perfectly captures vintage charisma with a bold modern twist. Designed for enthusiasts who love a touch of rebellion alongside their sophistication, this timepiece is a tribute to the golden age of biker culture, blending elegance with a rugged edge.
Its standout feature? A striking charcoal grey metal dial with a cut-out design reminiscent of a vintage motorcycle’s air-cooled engine, offering texture and depth. Peek beneath, and you'll find a decorative gold-toned movement that adds a subtle shine to the vintage vibe. Powered by Seiko’s reliable 4R72 calibre, the 39.5mm case boasts slim lugs, laser-etched baton indices, and a clean cut-out aesthetic that ties the whole look together. Finished with a rich brown buffalo leather strap, this watch is a masterclass in balancing polished style with rugged charm—a perfect nod to biker culture for modern wrists.
TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Oracle Red Bull Racing
Speaking of motorsport, December was also the month that TAG Heuer celebrated Red Bull’s 20th season in Formula 1, with a new Formula 1 Limited Edition of their own. To use its government name, the TAG Heuer Formula 1 Chronograph x Oracle Red Bull Racing is a 43mm quartz chronograph decked out in red, dark blue and yellow that has been finished with a smart DLC case in black, the same material found on Red Bull’s current line-up of F1 cars. Taking things up a notch from previous editions, this time around the dial is presented with the Red Bull logo striped across from 7 to 10 o’clock as well as featuring an engraving of the Red Bull team’s unique 20th season logos on the caseback.
OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M in Titanium and Bronze Gold
Expanding the Seamaster Diver 300M collection that Daniel Craig teased at the Paris Olympics 2024, OMEGA has introduced an exciting new edition crafted from Grade 2 Titanium and Bronze Gold. Building on the stainless steel versions released earlier, this latest addition brings a fresh metallic twist to the range, offering fans yet another distinctive choice.
Inspired by the iconic Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition from No Time To Die, this watch swaps the familiar ceramic style for a more vintage feel. It features a domed sapphire crystal and a striking green aluminum dial, paired with the same lightweight mesh bracelet seen on Bond’s wrist. Stylish, rugged, and steeped in cinematic legacy, this new release blends heritage and modernity in true OMEGA fashion.
Breitling Superocean Heritage B20 Automatic 42 UK & Ireland LE
And finally, Breitling released a UK and Irelend Limited Edition of the Breitling Superocean Heritage B20 Automatic 42. Breitling’s Superocean Heritage B20 Automatic 42 is a masterclass in blending vintage charm with modern functionality. Housed in a sturdy stainless-steel case with a scratch- and shock-resistant black ceramic bezel, this timepiece pays homage to its diving roots. The unidirectional bezel features a luminescent marker at 12 o’clock—a practical nod to its underwater timing heritage.
Its anthracite dial is paired with two strap options: a classic stainless-steel mesh strap for a timeless look, and a sporty rubber strap that echoes the texture of the steel. Both come with a folding clasp buckle for secure comfort. Engraved on the caseback is ‘One of 500,’ marking its exclusivity, while the watch’s COSC-certified Breitling B20 Manufacture Caliber ensures top-tier precision. With 200 meters of water resistance, this limited edition is as ready for ocean adventures as it is for everyday elegance—a true testament to Breitling’s spirit of exploration and innovation.
