In 2007, Jaeger-LeCoultre revolutionised the watchmaking industry with the launch of the Duometre mechanism, featuring a chronograph – the epitome of precision. Now, in 2024, the Maison unveils a ground-breaking timepiece, the Duometre Chronograph Moon, fusing the precision of a chronograph with the allure of celestial complications. Powered by the new Calibre 391, this masterpiece presents a captivating contrast between the lightning-fast operation of the chronograph and the serene rhythm of the moon's cycle.

Elegant Variations at Watches and Wonders 2024

At Watches and Wonders 2024, Jaeger-LeCoultre debuts the Duometre Chronograph Moon in two stunning variations. The first boasts a platinum case paired with a copper-coloured dial, while the second features a pink gold case complemented by a refined silver dial. Both models are adorned with hand-stitched alligator straps, offering a touch of luxury and sophistication.

Solving the Complexity of Complications

The Duometre mechanism addresses the inherent challenge in complex mechanical watches – the disruption of power supply to the escapement, compromising precision. Initially explored in the 19th century with the LeCoultre Calibre 19/20RMSMI, the Duometre concept was fully realized in 2007, guaranteeing the constant isochronism essential for accurate timekeeping.

Calibre 391 marks a significant leap in watchmaking innovation, integrating a manually wound mono-pusher chronograph with moon phase and night-day complications. The flying second hand whirls with precision, providing accurate readings to 1/6th of a second. The open-worked dial offers glimpses of the intricate mechanism, while traditional finishes reflect Jaeger-LeCoultre's commitment to precision and aesthetics.

Contemporary Elegance in Design

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, the Duometre Chronograph Moon features an entirely new case design inspired by 19th-century pocket watches. Its rounded contours and polished edges exude sophistication, while a mix of surface finishes creates a captivating interplay of light. The redesigned crown ensures effortless handling, embodying the Maison's dedication to both form and function.

Pushing the Boundaries of Watchmaking

With the Duometre Chronograph Moon, Jaeger-LeCoultre continues to push the boundaries of watchmaking excellence. This innovative timepiece represents the Maison's unwavering commitment to precision, craftsmanship, and timeless elegance, reaffirming its position as a leader in haute horlogerie.
